People are very concerned about getting antioxidants into their bodies these days. In response to this demand, many supplement companies have developed pills that claim to have significant amount of antioxidants in them. But can you really get proper antioxidant levels from pills? The Mayo Clinic does not put a lot of hope in obtaining antioxidants from supplement pills. They hold to the observation that people who eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, which are the main sources of antioxidants, have lower incidence of cancers and diseases associated with damage from what is called oxidative stress.
We have found that the best source of antioxidants are from fruits and vegetables, especially the acai berry which is extremely high in antioxidants. The problem with Acai products is that since there is such a high demand for them, there is also a high number of unscrupulous producers who cut corners and produce products that do not have sufficient antioxidant levels.
In our research, you need to find a company who produces pure Acai, unfiltered, 100% certified organic and if you can find a company who is also kosher certified that is a plus. We don’t usually recommend Acai products due to overwhelming number of fraudulent companies, but you can see a list of our recommended acai berry companies here.
